Happy 2011!

A Wish for You in 2011

May peace break into your home and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips.
May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had, forget your home address.
In simple words...
May 2011 be the best year of your life!!!

Thinking about the Holidays

I was just sitting here thinking about the holidays.  You know how the media circulates that people eat LOTS of stuff over the holidays that they wouldn't normally eat, which is why everyone freaks out in January and they all diet like crazy until the summer?

With other diet plans, a pound a week is doing good and considered "healthy."  So, if you gained 20 pounds over the holidays, you'd have to figure FIVE MONTHS of dieting just to get them back off.  But we've all got an ace in our back pockets with HCG.  It truly is a miracle, isn't it?  Gain 20 pounds in 30 days, take 'em back off the next 20.

I'm getting ready to do a Cookie Swap just after Christmas because that's when Daphne comes back home from visiting her (other) relatives and I couldn't fathom leaving her out of such a fun event.  I've gained 5# back from what I lost, which is still within reason, but it's not the 2# that Simeon recommended.  lol.

My brain isn't quite functional right now, so I hope you can follow my thought train, but the whole nine yards led me to think that Christmas or New Years is the perfect Loading Days time!

If you started Christmas Day, you'd be in Lifetime Maintenance ON Valentine's Day.  See:

If you Loaded on New Year's, you'd be all finished *and* probably have all 20 of those pounds back off, your thyroid reset, and completely ready for swimsuit season a full month before Spring arrives.  You'd actually be at your thin state in time for all the Spring Breaks in March!  See:

So, with either option, you're looking all sexy and svelt three months before anyone else is.  How rockin' awesome cool is that??

By the way, if you use Google Calendars, you can just click on that little Google Calendar button at the bottom right of your chosen calendar and it'll open up Google Calendars for you, then ask if you want to add it to your calendar.  :)  Easy, peasy!

Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US. Traditionally, it's a day to think about what you've got (& not got) and be thankful for both. It's a day we get together, recall we're a family, and enjoy each other's company over a large meal that - in most cases - lasts from morning til night with gobs of leftovers for the next day.

If you're in P2 of HCG during this time, my hat's off to you! I am SO IMPRESSED! It's tough to be different and so "out there" with regaining control of your physical self. So, a few words of encouragement for you:

  • You're strong! Stay strong and be proud of yourself!
  • Your family is proud of you, even if you're not partaking the foods they are.
  • You're absolutely beautiful. Go look in the mirror!

And, a few things to help you through:

Where I completely expect that you'll stay 100% on protocol, temptation is greatest in situations where you've always done this or that. If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got. However, if you do decide to cheat, try to cheat within the foods you're allowed. Have an extra apple or an extra helping of HCG approved meat. It sounds a little silly, but it won't halt your losses for days to come. :) I tried it with that extra bread stick when I cheated.

But, most importantly, remember that the occasion is about love, friendship, giving, thankfulness, and emotions.

The meal is just there because we're all going to be hungry while we're enjoying each other's company.

Love to you and yours!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Questions and Answers: Holiday Sweets

Toni S. wrote to me and asks:
Hi what can I do for my sweet tooth party at work not sure if I can aviod the cake????? Can I bake something with almond meal on p2????????????

My reply to her may help you, too, in case you're encountering similar circumstances:
On P2, you're sort of stuck with just stevia for curbing the sweet tooth. Mostly what your body is craving when it wants sweets is the magnesium that some sweets (the ones women typically want, chocolatey). So, try getting some magnesium supplements and taking those a couple of days in advance of the party.

Be sure to get some different flavors of stevia to try out. My favorites are Tofee, Dark Chocolate, and French Vanilla. Add them to tea or drink them all by themselves and you'll get the sense of being spoiled.

I recently tried a *great* egg nog tea from the grocery store. It's a seasonal thing, so you'll only find it now, in November-December. It doesn't have any of the calories or fat that real egg nog has, but it did taste remarkably similar to it! I'd brew up a *big* cup (20 ounces) of that before the party, add about 10 drops of French Vanilla stevia to it and bring it with me. Here's what the package looks like and my review of it: http://lessofmehcg.blogspot.com/2009/10/p3-t-6-days-winter-tea-phase-2-too.html

The other thing you ought to do is make sure to drink as much water as you can hold just before the party. That way, you're just too full to bother with eating anything. It's an old trick and it's been around for so long for the simple reason that it works. :)

So, drink gobs of water, make your tea (or some White Dark Cocoa - http://lessofmehcg.blogspot.com/2009/09/not-feeling-that-creative.html) and take your magnesium supplements. You should be able to come out of this party successfully *and* be able to pat yourself on the back for doing such a great job... Remember that it's easy to put a morsel into your mouth, but it'll stop weight release for *days.* One morsel will not only cause a gain, but you'd also be paying for it for days, too.

Lastly, *IF* you do cheat, just remind yourself that you had other choices, maybe review those choices, and then move on. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP over it. YOU are the what's important here and you're giving yourself the gifts of health, happiness, and the satisfaction of a job well done.

:)

You can do it!

~Jay
