On Interrupts: Reader Q/A

Terri asked me: "When you have done interrupts did you gain weight? if not how did you prevent it? I have to take one already and am worried."

I did gain weight, initially, Terri. That's when I came up with the concept that if you eat at least one meal per day with either the apple/cheese combo or a steak/tomato combo, it seems to correct the potential gain.
Those options are the two that result in the largest (what I call) "Pre-Correction. Oft times, I even witnessed a lower weight coming off of Interrupt than when I started it by up to 5 pounds following this little rule.

But, every day when I'm on an Interrupt, one of my meals is one of those two options.
Having just two choices of meal makes it nice and easy.

Pre-Corrections works on the premise that your body needs the protein/fat as well as a diuretic to ensure the water you're drinking pushes through your body in an efficient manner.

Correction Options & Interrupts

There are several options for the final day(s) of an interrupt if you find you've gained a little back.  Here's a quick overview of the ones I use the most often...

  1. Steak & Cheese - 8-10oz steak and up to 4oz of cheese for two meals (skip breakfast, eat lunch & dinner)
  2. Steak & Apple - Starve until dinner, then have an enormous steak and at least 2 apples.
  3. Steak & Tomato - Starve until dinner, then have an enormous steak and at least 2 large tomatoes.
  4. Apple & Cheese Day - Up to 4oz cheese along with at least 2 apples for each meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

With all of them, don't forget to drink your water so your body has something to flush out the weight with!

There is one more I'm working on...  Yah, another test and the results coming up soon!  Hehehe.  I love testing & finding things that work that no one else discovered.  That's just the best feeling.  It's not ready yet; just a little more testing before it's released into the world for everyone to use.

Wouldn't it be nice to have more options??

I'm working on it!

Interrupts

Today is the day you should start your interrupt if you're going to take a break for the New Year's Holiday!  At least then, you can have cheese, meats, veggies, and some dips!  :)  Here's the schedule, in case you don't quite know what to do:

Holidays and Life

Hey everyone!  I was just talking on Facebook with a bunch of people (BRAVE, BRAVE souls) who are on HCG during the holidays.  With that, I wanted to remind you all that if you think you're going to be weak over Christmas, you do have an ace in your back pocket: The Interrupt!

Here's how you do it, as copied directly from Pounds and Inches:

Unforeseen Interruptions of Treatment
If an interruption of treatment lasting more than four days is necessary, the patient must increase his diet to at least 800 Calories by adding meat, eggs, cheese, and milk to his diet after the third day, as otherwise he will find himself so hungry and weak that he is unable to go about his usual occupation.  If the interval lasts less than two weeks the patient can directly resume injections and the 500-Calorie diet, but if the interruption lasts longer he must again eat normally until he has had his third injection.
When a patient knows beforehand that he will have to travel and be absent for more than four days, it is always better to stop injections three days before he is due to leave so that he can have the three days of strict dieting which are necessary after the last injection at home. This saves him from the almost impossible task of having to arrange the 500 Calorie diet while en route, and he can thus enjoy a much greater dietary freedom from the day of his departure.  Interruptions occurring before 20 effective injections have been given are most undesirable, because with less than that number of injections some weight is liable to be regained.  After the 20th injection an unavoidable interruption is merely a loss of time.

So, the schedule if you're doing homeopathic looks like this:
Day 1 & 2:  Stay with 500 calorie days.
Day 3 & 4:  Increase to 800 calories.
Day 5-13:    Eat "normally."
Day 14: Resume drops & 500 calorie days.

The schedule, if you're doing injections looks more like this:

Day 1-3:  Stay with 500 calorie days.
Day 4 & 5:  Increase to 800 calories.
Day 6-13:    Eat "normally."
Day 14: Resume drops & 500 calorie days.

Interrupts are nice to know about if you've got events like holidays, weddings, or some big stressor happening.  You just don't have to worry about that.  :)
